Athletic Therapy Guide

When an athlete is injured they often seek out athletic therapy.

Finding a nearby Atheletic Therapy Clinic is often a matter of speaking to the athlete's coach, training assitants, or even fellow athletes regarding what therapy clinic they have used and liked.

An Athletic Therapist performs tasks such as:

  • assessment of the injury

  • if needed - basic emergency life support

  • recognition and management of acute traumatic neurological dysfunction

  • first aid

  • steps to move to an appropriate health care

  • facilitating a safe return to sport

An important question is to ask the therapist whether they are certified.
